1) Upcoming Short Courses

Eigenvector returns to Chelan, WA for Basic and Advanced Chemometrics

with PLS_Toolbox, June 1-5, 2003. The courses will be held at historic

Campbell's Resort on Lake Chelan. The two day, hands-on, Basic

Chemometrics course will start with pattern recognition and regression

methods (PCA, PCR, PLS). Example problems will illustrate use of the

methods with the new PLS_Toolbox 3.0. The three day Advanced Chemometrics

course will explore how multivariate image analysis, curve resolution,

and multi-way methods can be used for investigating and modeling chemical

systems, as well as for multivariate statistical process control. Special

attention will be paid to how the methods can be used together to solve

difficult problems. Here is your chance to update your chemometrics skills

AND visit beautiful Lake Chelan. Get complete course info.

A one-day, hands-on version of Chemometrics without Equations will be

offered prior to the 11th European Congress on Biotechnology, ECB-11. The

course will be held on August 24, 2003, in Basel, Switzerland.

Eigenvector returns to FACSS, this year in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, with

two “hands-on” courses for 2003. Chemometrics without Equations

(or Hardly Any) will be held on Oct. 18-19, and Intermediate Chemometrics will

be October 21-22. We’ve arranged for computers this year, so students

will be able to work problems and learn through doing. The courses are also

open to those not attending FACSS.

Need chemometrics training at your site? Eigenvector has a rapidly expanding

curriculum available. In addition to the courses listed above, we have

courses that focus specifically on process monitoring, inferential sensors

for use in process control, and SIMULINK. Visit our courses page or write

to Barry M. Wise for more information.

2) PLS_Toolbox 3.0.2 Update Now Available

PLS_Toolbox 3.0 was the most exciting update ever to the PLS_Toolbox!

Initial response from users has been uniformily positive, including

comments like “I love the new tools!”, and “You guys are

doing great things with PLS_Toolbox!” We continue to refine

and improve PLS_Toolbox with the latest update, 3.0.2. This minor

update adds a few new functions, demos and data sets, and fixes a

couple minor bugs. Registered PLS_Toolbox 3.0 users can download the update

using their assigned username and password.

Haven’t yet upgraded to PLS_Toolbox 3.0? Now’s the time! You can

now purchase or upgrade your PLS_Toolbox through our secure on-line

web store. PLS_Toolbox 2.1 users who purchased after Sept. 1, 2001,

get a free upgrade to Version 3.0. You will need your assigned username

and password to download it. Get more information, purchase or

upgrade to PLS_Toolbox 3.0 here.

A fully functional demo is also available at the URL above.
